Overview
Sony Pictures Entertainment developed online adaptations of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, bringing iconic TV experiences into interactive formats. My role involved designing the visual identity, interface framework, and avatar systems to capture the excitement of the shows while ensuring usability and accessibility for a diverse player base.
Process
I created wireframes, interface artwork, and textured menu systems, balancing fidelity to the original television formats with engaging gameplay mechanics. This included designing sample Flash demonstrations for UI sections, collaborating with engineers to optimize deployment, and moderating usability testing sessions to validate choices. A major component of the work involved designing 3D avatars, ensuring players could personalize their experience and connect with the gameplay on a deeper level.
Impact
The games launched successfully, with millions of players engaging through Sony’s online platform. The UI and avatar systems helped set a standard for game show adaptations in the digital era, ensuring accessibility, usability, and brand consistency with the Jeopardy!and Wheel of Fortune franchises.
